Removable fibreglass support rods help the carrier hold its rounded form, while four-sided ventilation, roll-down privacy panels, multiple carry options and a foldable washable design make it easier to adapt between travel, storage and cleaning.

✈️ Built to Fit Virgin Australia's Pets in Cabin Size Requirements

Based on Virgin Australia's officially published Pets in Cabin carrier requirements (checked September 2026).

Virgin Australia is currently the only Australian airline offering a Pets in Cabin service for small cats and dogs, and it publishes exact maximum carrier dimensions that are checked at the airport. Our L size (42 × 28 × 28cm) fits within those limits right out of the box — no need to compress or squeeze the width to make it fit under the seat.

A few important things to know before you fly:

• The above comparison applies to the L size only. The XL size (48 × 30 × 30cm) exceeds Virgin Australia's maximum dimensions on all sides and is not suitable for their Pets in Cabin service.
• Virgin Australia's Pets in Cabin combined weight limit is 8kg for pet + carrier together — since the L carrier weighs approx. 1.25kg, this leaves roughly 6.75kg for your pet, lower than the general suggested pet weight in our size guide above.
• The service currently operates on a limited set of domestic Australian routes (including Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Adelaide), requires advance phone booking, and is subject to eligibility rules, breed restrictions and airport approval.
• Airline policies can change at any time. Please confirm current routes, fees and requirements directly on Virgin Australia's official Pets in Cabin page before booking or travelling.

For other airlines, cabin pet-carrier rules vary widely by carrier, aircraft and route — always check with your specific airline before flying.

Remove the detachable structural support rods and other removable rigid components before washing. The soft carrier body can then be machine washed according to the supplied care instructions.

Allow all components to dry completely before reassembly and storage. Regularly clear loose fur from the mesh panels and check the zips, seams and support channels for wear.

Fit & Travel Safety

Choose the carrier based on your pet’s actual body measurements rather than weight alone. Your pet should have sufficient space to settle comfortably without being tightly compressed.

Use the internal safety clip with a properly fitted harness rather than attaching it directly to the neck collar. Check the mesh, support rods, shoulder-strap attachment points, handles, zips and base before each trip, and do not continue using the carrier if structural parts become damaged.
