Cassava and corn starch
The core of the range and fully plant-based. Fast-binding starches form firm clumps. Choose it unscented, with a light green tea scent, or with silver-ion antibacterial granules and sodium bicarbonate.
A fine, sand-like plant litter known for hard clumps and very little dust. There are five formulas here, from plain unscented cassava to a bentonite mix. The trade-offs are real too: fine granules can track, and none of these litters should go down the toilet. Below is what each one is, what reviewers found, and which suits your tray.
Every Xu Cuihua litter uses small, smooth granules that feel like sand underpaw. What changes is what they are blended with.

Tofu fibre blended with cassava and corn starch. The grain is finer than typical tofu pellets, and it is positioned as the more economical formula in the range.
Sodium bentonite mixed with cassava and corn starch, plus deodorising granules. It aims for mineral-style clumping and less tracking. It contains bentonite, so it is not fully plant-based.

The findings come from three articles by Yangchong Boshi, a pet-health site run by a Chinese pet clinic company, one Australian owner review and the brand's own listings. This is not a laboratory comparison, and we found no large independent test. Choose a topic to see the evidence and its source.
The reviews were written about the plant and bentonite versions sold in China and on Amazon, which may differ from the versions LéJoyee stocks. The bars show how positive the findings were on each topic. They are our reading of a small set of sources, not a measured score.
The clumps are very firm and can block plumbing. Please put used litter in household waste. Check the page for the formula you buy.
Fine granules cling to paws and fur. A litter mat, a high-sided tray or a top-entry box helps. Long-haired cats are the most likely to carry it around the house.
We suggest 4 to 6 cm of litter, scooping daily and a full change every 2 to 4 weeks. One reviewer found the smell built up sooner and recommended changing it every 7 to 10 days, so adjust to what you notice.
Mix Xu Cuihua into your cat's current litter over several days, especially if your cat is sensitive to texture changes.
Founded in 2022, Xu Cuihua takes its name from Cuihua, a stray cat adopted by the brand's founders. What began with a single cat became the starting point for a dedicated cat-litter brand focused on practical, natural and more considered litter solutions.
Xu Cuihua's product range is developed around everyday essentials such as reliable clumping, odour control, easy cleaning and cat-friendly materials. The brand has since grown into an established cat-litter business, with more than 20 million bags sold and over 1 million customers according to figures published by the brand.
